Minter Field in Shafter, CA. (10 mi NW of Bakersfield) hosted the 22nd annual Warbirds in Action Airshow on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Minter was the largest basic training facility of its type on the West Coast and more than 11,000 Army Air Corp Cadets graduated here and served in all theaters of WW-II.
